Judge Dismisses Home Inspector's Lawsuit Against Agent

In the case, home inspector Matthew Steinhausen sued a Seward, Neb., real estate agent and her company over the alleged remarks. Steinhausen argued that the remarks were libelous and hurt his business’ reputation. He asked the court for more than $50,000 in damages. The home inspector said the real estate agent called him a “total idiot” in an e-mail sent to more than 400 other real estate professionals. Dismissing the lawsuit, the judge said the comments were protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Congratulations John & Cassie Gallagher on the Sale of Your Home!

John & Casie Gallagher needed to sell their Odenton, MD, townhome to move and pursue John's new job in Georgia. The Gallaghers were not really satisfied with the performance of their first realtor, who failed to sell the home after several months of work. Worried and disappointed with their home-sale experience, John & Casie then turned to me for help.

A few weeks after I listed the home, with a fresh approach, lots of work and heavy marketing, we sold the house for 98 percent of the Gallaghers' asking price. "[We] only wish we had hired you sooner," the Gallaghers said.

What did the Gallaghers like best about working with me? "Great communication, especially since we were out of town," they said. "Far and away, the best realtor we've ever worked with."

If I can help you or someone you know with a real estate need, call me direct at (443) 924-7418. You'll be glad you did!
