Md. legislators ponder override on property-tax caps.
Great. Yet ANOTHER way the state government is trying to punish homeowners and kill a real estate market that's already on life support.
A Stunning Townhome in Seven Oaks, Odenton
My 6-year-old daughter was bored yesterday, so I took her with me to preview several homes for sale – six to be exact. It was fun for her; she got to see the different kinds of homes people live in. Four hours after we started, she was tired and ready to head home – that is, after requesting a “treat” because she’d been so good during our journey (she said). She had.
The most notable home we saw yesterday was an end-unit townhouse in the Seven Oaks section of Odenton – 2238 Commissary Circle, Odenton, MD, 21113 (MLS # AA7779275). Seven Oaks isn’t the most popular section of Odenton, but this home, which appeared roundly ordinary from the outside, was incredible inside.
I met the owners during the open house they staged and could not have been more impressed with what I saw. The interior of the house absolutely gleamed. Everything was fresh, new, replaced or upgraded.
The home is a three-level townhouse model where owners must enter from the lowest level, which many times features a garage. But in lieu of a garage, this home featured one large bedroom, a family room and a full bath. This ground floor, unlike some townhomes with ground floor entrances, was warm, dry, cozy, well-lit and impeccably decorated. High-end materials and fixtures and good craftsmanship were obvious. One of the rooms even featured double French doors – a very nice touch. There also was a paver patio in the rear of the house, and the yard backed to woods and a small stream.
The second floor contained a huge dining/living area with brilliant hardwood floors and tons of natural light. The eat-in, ceramic-tiled kitchen, though slightly small, had quality new stainless steel appliances, beautiful granite countertops and a great pantry. Tying it all together were neutral colors and light fixtures that gave the space a palpable feel of sophistication. The second floor also exited to a large wooden deck with good privacy.
Finally, the top level of the home featured two large master suites, each with gorgeous en suite baths and ample closet space. Each bath included granite countertops with new cabinets, ceramic tile floors and new light fixtures.
Other features of the home included a new HVAC system, new window blinds, new exterior doors and a first-floor laundry room.
I’ve been in a lot of townhouses – new and used – in this area, and I must say that this is one of the nicest ones I’ve ever seen. Offered at $279,500, it will make someone a very nice home.
